Chronicle your child’s growth with a Canvas Growth Chart
Uncategorized - 5 months ago - Damian
Kids grow up so fast these days, pyjama bottoms which were once (not too long ago) turned up twice to avoid trip-ups are now hanging loftily above the ankles at half mast! And unless you make a note, it’s so easy to forget just how little your children once were. So, to help with an already cluttered memory (first word, first steps and first tooth etc) I’d recommend documenting the various stages of development with a personalised growth chart.
A growth chart is one of those childhood must-haves. What child doesn’t get excited by seeing how much they’ve grown… and more so if you don’t notice they’re standing on tiptoes! It’s also a wonderful keepsake item that will be treasured for years to come.
Made of top quality stretched canvas, our growth charts can be easily wiped clean so children can feel free to touch and explore. Fun, whimsical and full of imagination, they are not just a height chart but a fine piece of artwork that is truly a beautiful décor for any child’s room.
This week we’ve added three new personalised pieces to our collection. Your little one will love seeing their name floating amongst the:
- Flower Fairies… Peep into the enchanted world of the flower fairies
- Jungle Adventure… Incorporate the colours and animals of jungle life into your home
- Land of Dinosaurs… Journey back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth
So whether you’re looking for a new baby gift or a christening gift with a difference, an Art adventure growth chart is a great addition to any child’s room and a lasting memento of a child’s life.

How to Create a Pirate Bedroom for Your Child
Bedroom Themes - 5 months ago - Damian
Ahoy, me hearties – raise the Jolly Roger, it’s official; with the huge success of Pirates of the Caribbean and old favourites like Captain Hook in Peter Pan and Long John Silver in Treasure Island, pirates have never been so popular. And, thanks to Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of buccaneers, it is no longer just the boys yearning for adventures on the open seas; my daughter loves pirates too and her own personalised Pirate Ship Canvas hangs proudly above her bed whilst x marks the spot on her Jolly Roger growth chart.
Most of us can remember playing pirates kitted out in a stripy t-shirt and cut-off jeans but times have changed. Today’s discerning young pirate expects a little more authenticity than the dining chairs and old sheets that you and I made our pirate ships from. So, in order to help parents keep up with all the latest in pirate plunder and booty, the Art Adventure crew have trawled the seven seas, from Neverland to World’s End, to bring you and your little pirate the very best in pirate bedroom accessories. From nursery pictures and growth charts to beds and curtains, you can create the perfect pirate’s lair for just a few pieces of eight. So let your little swashbucklers set sail for their own treasure island in the ultimate captain’s cabin and make sure their bedtime becomes dreamtime. Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of… milk!

Favourite Nursery Rhyme… Dingle Dangle Scarecrow!
Personal - 6 months ago - Damian
According to a survey by the charity Booktrust, two thirds of parents do not regularly read nursery rhymes to their children, so has the nursery rhyme now had it’s day?
We started singing nursery rhymes soon after the births of both our children, and although our son is only 19 months he happily sings along with Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Black Sheep and many more. He may not know all the words but it’s really helping his speech and I can’t imagine his bedtime milk without rhymes.
Nursery rhymes transport the listener into a fantasy world filled with exciting characters. They’re short and easy to remember, great for learning shapes, for introducing animals and their sounds, and for teaching fun movement and actions. I feel nursery rhymes contain all the essential elements for early learning, and that’s why they’ve been around for as long as they have, and why I hope very much they’ll still be sung for generations to come.
If I had to choose a favourite I’d go for Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. When my daughter was little she loved to sing and dance to it and although I’d never heard it when I was young, it inspired me enough to illustrate it. You can see my version by clicking here.

Make a Mother’s Day Masterpiece
Latest News - 6 months ago - Damian
This time last year I was struggling for a unique gift idea for Mother’s Day. Although it wasn’t Ruth’s first year as a mum, it was her first year as a mum to Daniel and I wanted something really special. After an hour or so browsing the hundreds of photos we’d taken, I’d found enough of her ‘family favourites’ for a collage and with a little more effort designed a layout combining photos of the two kids seperately and together. The end result was a stunning canvas photo collage which went down a storm and now hangs proudly above the fireplace in our dining room.
Since then, I’ve incorporated the idea into Art adventure and now offer a range of layouts and sizes. So let us transform your favourite photographs into a stunning photo canvas print worthy of wall space in any art gallery. Our handcrafted canvases are of the highest quality, which means your images look superb – like a true work of art.
So go on, treat her this Mothers Day…

Declare your love in style with a stunning Valentine Photo Collage
Personal - 7 months ago - Damian
I’ve never really considered Valentines a key diary date in the Children’s Pictures market so I was a little shocked when asked if I could submit an article for a Valentines feature. The only (tenuous) link I could find between the two was the possibility of the patter of tiny footsteps nine months into the future somewhere around 14th November, but I’m sure most people wouldn’t relish the suggestion!
But, with the launch of ‘The Big Picture‘ towards the end of 2009 Art adventure can now turn your favourite wedding photos into a stunning canvas collage. Whether portraits of the big day or memories of the perfect honeymoon – personalise your space with your very own creation and bring the wow-factor to your walls!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I run a company called Art adventure, offering an exclusive range of Nursery Pictures & Children's Wall Art. I was inspired by the birth of my daughter Isabel to produce a one off piece for her bedroom wall and after a fantastic response from family and friends decided to launch a website to showcase my work.
